<p class="h1c">Photographic Competition <br><br> Bury St Edmunds:<br> Then and Now in Pictures</p> <p class="h1c">Is now complete.</p> <p class="n">The Spanton Jarman Photographic Collection is a unique window on the world of Bury St Edmunds in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. <br><br> You can help to record how the sights, life and people in the town have changed since then and win up to £500 along with having your photographs showing today's Bury St Edmunds exhibited publicly.</p> <p class="h2">This is all you have to do </p> <ul class="n"> <li class="n">Browse the photographs of Bury St Edmunds that are on this site, or</li> <li class="n">View prints of the photographs at the Suffolk Record Office, Raingate Street, Bury St Edmunds Tel: 01284 352352.</li> <li class="n">Take a modern interpretation of up to six pictures.</li> <li class="n">Send your pictures (film or digital) with an entry form (see below).</li> <li class="n">The competition closes on 10th September 2006 and the results will be announced in November.</li> <li class="n">A public exhibition will be held to display leading entries.</li> <li class="n">Prizes are <b>£250</b> for Best Adult, <b>£250</b> for Best Junior (under 16 on 31 August 2006), and <b>£250</b> for Best Full Time Student. The overall winner, which may or may not be one of the previous three, will receive a prize of <b>£250</b>.</li> </ul> <br><br><hr><br><br>

Prize giving

Competition winners received their prizes at the St. Edmund’s Day Civic Reception and Awards Ceremony hosted by Bury St. Edmunds Town Council, in the Athenaeum on Sunday 19th November 2006. The awards were presented by the Mayor of Bury St. Edmunds, Cllr Beccy Hopfensperger, and all the winning entries were on display.

Exhibition

An exhibition of some of the entries is in Moyses Hall from 23rd November where it will be on display until January 2007.
